Easy Biking on a Paved Trail

Biking on a Paved Trail!

Let’s try rail trail biking as a new activity for the group! We’ll ride an easy trail, making this a great ride even if you don’t normally bike.

Date and Time

Thursday October 29th and the weather looks nice! Please arrive by 10:45 AM so we can be ready to leave right at 11:00. If you arrive after 11 AM,  you will find us on the trail as it is a simple in-and-out path. The whole activity is estimated to take under 2 hours including stops.

The Trail

We'll enjoy some fantastic views on a quiet, easy route. The full in and out ride will be 7.1 miles - all of it away from any cars - on a paved rail trail that’s mostly flat with one short, gentle hill at the beginning.

PLEASE: You need to bring your own bike, a water bottle, snacks, and consider dressing in layers. Helmets are always a good idea!

Stop and Enjoy the Views

We will stop at a good viewpoint along the trail to eat and socialize. Please bring a snack and a drink for yourself.

Bike Transport

If you need help getting your bike to the trail, attendees with bike racks may be able to assist. A few of us will also carry backpacks, in case you need something small carried.

Driving Directions

Parking lot location:  https://maps.app.goo.gl/R67ZHh3amAAqa5Ab9?g_st=ic

FYI:  Coming from Ridgefield, take exit 1 off I-84 and stay in the right lane as you exit. Both lanes are allowed to turn left, so staying right lets you turn immediately right into the parking lot. There should be plenty of parking mid-week.
