Whether you are an experienced knitter or just getting started come meet up for a casual evening of knitting.  If there is enough interest in keeping this group going we can discuss the best time / meeting locations.

Bring your own project or join the knit-a-long (see below) and we can all follow along together.

Total Newbies are more than welcome!  Hopefully we will have a few experts join in to help guide you along with your first project.  Email knitters@ridgefieldnewcomers.org before the meeting and I can give you some advice on materials to start with a simple learning project.

We'll have some wine & snacks - feel free to bring something along if you would like.

Interested in a knit-a-long?  I've chosen a pattern that is for beginners, quick to knit and perfect for Spring (which MUST be coming soon!).  The Botanical Cowl pattern uses an airy double-eyelet pattern that gives it plenty of drape and visual depth and can be finished in a single or double loop size.  You can see the pattern here: http://www.tricksyknitter.com/product/botanical-cowl/ (scroll to bottom of comments and press green download button to view entire pattern instructions).

The only thing that you need to do before the 8th is buy materials for this project.  You will need:

Yarn: 270yds fingering weight yarn (for single loop size)

Needles: 4.0mm circular needle

There is a great knitting shop in town --  Nancy O's at 23 Catoonah St (across from the Post Office).

Or, Michael's Craft Store (locations in Wilton and Danbury) also have materials.
