Well done to all the hikers who turned out for the Sept 10th Pine Mountain hike. It was a beautiful sunny morning and it felt great to get out in the woods and stretch our legs.

We had a great turnout with 9 hikers in all (We did briefly lose 2 of our party but ended up with 9 at the end :-)) The views from the vista were great, if you squinted you could just convince yourself you could see LI Sound.

One thing that surprised me was the amount of  trail damage from Hurricane Irene. See the picture below of Dean battling his way through some trees that had fallen on the trail.
    petroglyphs?
We saw some pretty amazing stuff on this hike, including some ancient petroglyphs (?!), and an even more fascinating tattoo on Drew. I can't include the picture of that one though because it is not safe for viewing by the general public.

Hope to see you at the next hike on Oct 22nd--Devil's Den!

    Best,
    Kevin
